Select Zmodo Devices Now Work with Amazon Alexa

CHAMPAIGN, IL June 28, 2018 -- Zmodo, a leading manufacturer of smart home security cameras and devices, announces compatibility with Amazon Alexa. Consumers that own Amazon Echo or Fire TV products can now use voice control to interact with select Zmodo cameras to monitor their home. With Alexa, Zmodo customers can now view and control their camera’s live stream.

According to a report by NPR and Edison Research, 16 percent of Americans own a voice-activated smart speaker. By 2020, 75 percent of households will have at least one voice speaker and 50 percent of searches will be conducted via voice.

Nine Zmodo products have completed the Works with Alexa certification process including Zmodo Sight 180, Zmodo Sight 180 C, Zmodo Sight 180 Outdoor, Zmodo Snap PT, Zmodo Greet Pro, Zmodo Greet HD, Zmodo Outdoor Cam, Zmodo Outdoor Cam Pro and Zmodo EZCam.

For current Zmodo customers with Works with Alexa-certified products, ensure your firmware is up to date. The Zmodo app will automatically prompt you if a new firmware update is available. Or you can visit the Support section of Zmodo’s site for instructions on how to manually update firmware. Then follow these steps to enable Alexa compatibility. Open the Amazon Alexa application. Via the menu, navigate to the Skills & Games section. Search skills for Zmodo and enable the Zmodo skill. Sign in using your Zmodo account credentials and add supported devices.
