The in-kind donation including pet food and toy houses comes from 1% of customers’ device purchases and 10% of their cloud subscription orders during Zmodo’s National Puppy Day campaign from March 23 to April 2.

Zmodo’s generous donation is part of San Francisco SPCA’s commitment to animals’ lifesaving work. For over 150 years, the SF SPCA has provided care and protection for animals in need. As an independent nonprofit, the SF SPCA also works long-term to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying and neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their human companions.

A completely new look to unlock more features for Zmodo users, now available for both iOS and Android devices

June 24, 2020 [Champaign, IL] - Zmodo, the smart home products manufacturer that empowers more than 2.5 million users, has launched a new version app for iOS and Android. The Zmodo app allows users to get access to their devices remotely and subscribe to the Cloud Plans for more features.

The new app's updates for all Zmodo users include rich notifications, simplified Notifications management, whole new Motion Alerts interface, more device and category options under Events, and simplified Me tab and setup methods. Besides, users can use Motion Alerts as bookmarks and jump to desired events in the Playback timeline.

For Zmodo Cloud Plan subscribers, they will be able to download 30-minute clips to their phone after the update, the length of which is 10 minutes previously. Billing issues such as billing failures have been added to Notifications to make it easier for subscribers to address.

Consumers Control Select Zmodo Devices with their Voice

CHAMPAIGN, IL October 23, 2018 - Zmodo, a leading manufacturer of smart home security cameras and devices, announces integration with the Google Assistant. Consumers that own Google Assistant eligible devices can now use their voice to interact with Zmodo cameras and smart doorbells to monitor their home.

Juniper Research finds voice assistants as a key factor behind smart home growth, with 275 million voice assistant devices used to control smart homes by 2023. This projection has increased 1000% from an 25 million estimate in 2018. Google Assistant owns 29% of the mobile voice assistant market as of May 2018.

FREMONT, CA - November 24, 2015 -- Zmodo, a leader in video security products with over 6 million surveillance cameras sold since 2009, today announced a complete line of video products for the modern connected home. The Zmodo Home line of smart cameras works together to give customers a flexible solution to remotely monitor any size home. The solution provides local storage, giving owners the ability to watch days or weeks of stored video directly from the device, without a recurring monthly fee.

The Zmodo Home product family includes Greet, a connected, video-enabled doorbell with 8 GB of onboard storage; Replay, a Wi-Fi enabled indoor/outdoor four-camera system with a 1TB video recorder; and soon the Pivot, a robotic single room camera with smart features and functionality and 16 GB of onboard storage. Every Zmodo product can be monitored or managed via a smartphone application or through a web interface. Users will be able to remotely stream video stored on the device as well as all video and clips stored in the optional cloud service.

About the artists

Xue Song:

Xue Song began his initial experiments with collage after being inspired by an encounter with works by Robert Rauschenberg. Still, he struggled to find his artistic voice, explaining, “I wanted to break Chinese tradition and surpass western modernism. It is easy to say, but very difficult to realize.” In a twist of fate, his Pop art-meets-classical style began to crystallize after a fire burned down his studio, leading Xue to incorporate charred remnants of past work, books, and other belongings. He became known for colorful collages referencing political and popular icons and Chinese and Western art history, with burnt debris serving as a constant reminder of the past. Additionally, he picked up painting and experimented with styles ranging from traditional landscapes to Pop art. Through his series “Conversations with the Masters,” he engaged with the likes of Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Qi Baishi, and Xu Beihong.

Wei Guangqing:

A painter, illustrator, and one-time performance artist, Wei Guangqing figured among the trailblazers of the Chinese contemporary art scene in the 1980s as a prominent member of the ’85 New Wave movement. His “Red Wall” series exemplifies the Political Pop art for which he is known. Appropriating illustrated editions of feudal-era morality tales, Wei replaces the text with an illustration of a red-brick wall, symbolizing a new social order and collective moral compass. “The works adopt a conceptual approach to record some remnants of heroic illusion amongst a fully materialized society,” he says, “and at the same time tell us that in this era of abundant hedonism and consumerism, people must retain an awe toward unknown objects.”

Update on EP Technology

EP Technology Corp., at 1401 Interstate Drive, C, continues to sell, distribute and provide technical support for Zmodo video security equipment.

In 2013, Zmodo produced about 700,000 cameras and 150,000 digital video recorders, said Helen Wu, EP's investor relations manager.

The company is also expanding into the "smart home" industry by introducing smart electronics, such as smart cameras and doorbells that connect to smart phones, she said.

"We have recently introduced the Zmodo EZCam, a smart-home camera designed specifically for residential applications that allows customers to access live video feed via their smart phones," Wu said.

"It comes with our free app, Zsight, which is available on App Store and Google Play," she said.

EP Technology is developing a wide range of smart-home products and providing home automation services such as cloud storage and live streaming, she added.

"The new platform, the MeShare cloud, is an open cloud platform, which allows third-party smart electronics to run on," Wu said. "The platform and website are expected to go live this fall."

EP Technology occupies 100 percent of its building on Interstate Drive. As of last week, it employed 60 in Champaign.

Company founder Kevin Wan has said he would like to bring manufacturing to the U.S. and possibly to Champaign.

Wu said there are no immediate plans for that, "but we are not ruling out that possibility in the future."
